- Maintenance allowance provision of £18,744 for single student for periods up to 12 months subject to the norms on course duration (PhD scholars receive an award for a maximum period of 3 years).
- Two one-economy single fares upon the commencement and conclusion of the course
- Inbound visa charges and the Immigration Health Surcharge.
- Courses and conferences fund – from £500 for others and up to 2, $1$k (according with length of the course) per individual.
- Family allowance – £10,944 for a single child and up to £10,944 of the same value per two or more children. Funds are not allocated for a the partner.
- Fieldwork – you may request to claim up to your standard maintenance allowance during the period of field work as part of a PhD (the trust does not fund any further costs for fieldwork because these are expected by way from University Composition Fee).
- M/P funding – if applicable, you can suspend your studies for up to 6 months and still get the maintenance allowance.
- Hardship grants – for the unfortunate circumstances preventing the scholar
Eligibility criteria for Gates Cambridge Scholarships:
You can apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship if you are:
- any non-UK citizen
- applying to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses of study: PhD (full-time or part time*), MSc / MLitt (part cycle), a one year postgraduate course in full time, with some exceptions to the above list.
- In October 2024, Gates Cambridge will be advancing a scheme that allows candidates to apply for financing for part-time doctoral studies.
