The Italian government provides scholarships to foreign students and Italians living abroad. This program aims at fostering cooperation among nations in the scientific, technological, cultural and artistic spheres as well as to promote Italian language and culture.
Government scholarships are available in Italy at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels. Scholarships might also be granted for research or linguistic stays in a public institution of lawful Italian recognition.

Funding
The successful candidate of the Italian government scholarships will be given a monthly stipend in the amount of 900 euros paid every three months (2,700 euros).
In addition, scholarship awardees will be free of tuition and fees. The exemption does not include language and cultural visits.

Eligibility
Bachelor’s degree: Italian government scholarships for Bachelor’s level are only restricted to higher education courses on art, music and dance.
Master’s degree : The first year of a Master’s degree in Italy is admissible only for those holding a Bachelor’s degree. Second year admission is given to candidates who can show that they have progressed satisfactorily during their first-year master. The Master’s courses scholarships are awarded for a study period of six (6) or nine (9) months.

PhD : Doctoral program applicants must satisfy the admission criteria and academic requirements set by a university in order to be admitted. They should also submit the admission letter to a doctoral program issued by an Italian university. Scholarships for a doctoral program are granted to study periods of 6 (six) or 9 (nine) months.

- Academic qualifications: Diploma and transcripts.
- Language proficiency: The certification of Italian language proficiency at the B2 level, if they wish to study in a program offered in Italian. B2 level of English language proficiency certification, if they wish to pursue an academic program taught in the English language.
