In Vrije Universiteit (VU), Amsterdam, international students can do a fellowship that caters for the cost of their Master’s program thanks to VU Fellowship Program. 1 million EUR have been allocated by Vrije Universiteit to support this fellowship programme.
- It is a merit-based scholarship and only high performing students will be selected.
- This fellowship is only for English-taught courses.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam Masters Scholarships, applicants must meet the criteria outlined (below):
- If you do not have an EU/ EEA passport and are ineligible for the lower tuition fee.
- You are not a Dutch citizen.
- This can be demonstrated by academic performance (GPA equivalent to a Dutch 8).
- Conditionally or unconditionally, you are admitted to the first year of a full-time English speaking Master’s programme at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
- The admission you are seeking is not a degree that has been earned in the Netherlands.
- You do not need to attend a preparatory programme before beginning your Masters studies.

Application instructions
It is important to note that you have already applied and been conditionally admitted for the Master programme before applying for the VUFP scholarship.
Students should enroll in a Master’s programme through Studielink by 1 December 2023 (from 1 October). Second, you need to send your VUFP application along with its supporting documents through the dashboard in MyVU before 28 February of 2024 (from November 1st).
